Failing
Massage Therapy
Schools

To students going into the Massage Therapy field.
Work with Schools that are AMTA approved.

So you want to become a Good Massage Therapist. There are massage schools popping up across the United States and many do not meet basic standards on hands-on approach. Always, Always look for experience in the field. Many are teaching your way/my way approach to basic massage therapy, instead of basic approach. But what is the basic approach? The best approach would be gathering information from as many different sources as you can before you get started. Then and only then you may have a basic foundation on massage techniques. Most schools starting up use instructors without a good foundation or even knowing what their going to teach. It was said once that it takes at least 10-yrs to start understanding massage therapy. Some schools use therapist that have two to seven years of experience. Hmmm!

A three to four semester course should look something like this, taught from instructors that met requirements from that school and with additional training: Do you think it needs more or less?

Here are a few questions to ask:
Owner/Operator/Administrator: Do they have 10 - 15 years of professional experience?
Instructors: Do they have 10 - 15 years of experience teaching what they are teaching?
Are they going to become AMTA approved versus just National approved?

Look around, check different schools and compare.

Here are articles to help you find quality schools, that has quality instructors.
